Weapons And Misc Sprite Editor

The Weapons/Misc Editor allows for customization of different weapon and misc. sprites used in Zelda Classic. There are three different types of weapons/ misc. sprites: Link Weapon Sprites, which can be selected for different items that Link can use, Enemy Weapon Sprites, which are used by enemies, and Misc. Sprites, most of which are used for other things such as certain combo types. Currently, the Arrow/Boomerang Impact Sprite is not shown in the list and is therefore hard-coded.

Link Weapon Sprites

All weapons/misc. sprites of this type are selectable when editing an item's action properties. ZZ weapons 88-255 can be used for custom Link weapon sprites.

Arrow 1 (Wooden)
The default arrow sprite for the default L1 Arrow item.
Arrow 2 (Silver)
The default arrow sprite for the default L2 Arrow item.
Arrow 3 (Golden)
The default arrow sprite for the default L3 Arrow item.
Bait
The default weapon sprite for the default Bait item.
Bomb (Normal)
The default bomb sprite for the default Normal Bomb item.
Bomb (Super)
The default bomb sprite for the default Super Bomb item.
Boomerang 1 (Wooden)
The default boomerang sprite for the default L1 Boomerang item; also the hard-coded weapon sprite for enemy boomerangs if Link has an L1 boomerang or no boomerang.
Boomerang 2 (Magic)
The default boomerang sprite for the default L2 Boomerang item; also the hard-coded weapon sprite for enemy boomerangs if Link has an L2 boomerang.
Boomerang 3 (Fire)
The default boomerang sprite for the default L3 Boomerang item; also the hard-coded weapon sprite for enemy boomerangs if Link has an L3 boomerang.
Cane of Byrna
Default stab sprite for the default Cane of Byrna item.
Cane of Byrna (Beam)
Default beam sprite for the default Cane of Byrna item.
Cane of Byrna (Slash)
Default slash sprite for the default Cane of Byrna item.
Din's Fire (Falling)
Default rocket down sprite for the default Din's Fire item.
Din's Fire (Rising)
Default rocket up sprite for the default Din's Fire item.
Din's Fire Trail (Falling)
Default rocket down sparkle sprite for the default Din's Fire item.
Din's Fire Trail (Rising)
Default rocket up sparkle sprite for the default Din's Fire item.
Explosion (Normal)
Default explosion sprite for the default Normal Bomb item.
Explosion (Super)
Default explosion sprite for the default Super Bomb item.
Flame
Default flame sprite for the following default items: Candle 1 (Blue), Candle 2 (Red), Magic Book, and Din's Fire
Hammer
Default hammer sprite for the default Hammer item.
Hookshot 1 (Short) Chain (Horizontal)
Default horizontal chain sprite for the default L1 Hookshot item.
Hookshot 1 (Short) Chain (Vertical)
Default vertical chain sprite for the default L1 Hookshot item.
Hookshot 1 (Short) Handle
Default handle sprite for the default L1 Hookshot item.
Hookshot 1 (Short) Head
Default head sprite for the default L1 Hookshot item.
Hookshot 2 (Long) Chain (Horizontal)
Default horizontal chain sprite for the default L2 Hookshot item.
Hookshot 2 (Long) Chain (Vertical)
Default vertical chain sprite for the default L2 Hookshot item.
Hookshot 2 (Long) Handle
Default handle sprite for the default L2 Hookshot item.

Default rocket left sprite for the default Nayru's Love item.

Default rocket left return sprite for the default Nayru's Love item.
Nayru's Love (Right)
Default rocket right sprite for the default Nayru's Love item.
Nayru's Love (Right, Returning)

Nayru's Love Shield (Front)
Default shield (2x2 Over) sprite for the default Nayru's Love item.
Nayru's Love Shield (Back)
Default shield (2x2 Under) sprite for the default Nayru's Love item.
Nayru's Love Trail (Left)
Default rocket left sparkle sprite for the default Nayru's Love item.
Nayru's Love Trail (Left, Returning)

Enemy Weapon Sprites

All weapons/misc sprites of this type are "hard-coded" and cannot be changed in the enemy editor.

Arrow (Enemy)
The default weapon for the following enemies- L1 and L2 Moblins, Spear Shooter.
Bomb (Enemy, Normal)
The default weapon for the L4 Octorok enemies.
Bomb (Enemy, Super)
Not used by any default enemies.
Boomerang (Enemy)
See Link Weapons; this is the default weapon for the L1, L2, and L3 Goriyas, and its sprite is dependent upon which boomerang Link has.
Explosion (Enemy, Normal)
Default death weapon for the Bombchu enemy.
Explosion (Enemy, Super)
Default dashing weapon for the Bombchu enemy.
Fire (Enemy)
Default weapon for the following enemies- L3 Octoroks, Fire Gleeok, L4 Gohma, Fire Shooter, Fire Wizzrobe.
Fire 2 (Enemy)
Default weapon for the Fire 2 Shooter.
Fire Trail (Enemy)
Default weapon for the following enemies- L2 Gels, L2 Zols.
Fireball
Default weapon for the following enemies- Aquamentus, Normal Gleeok, L1 and L2 Manhandlas, L1, L2, and L3 Gohmas, L2 and L3 Patras, Ganon, Zora, Fireball Shooter; this weapon is also used by guy room fires if Links hits the guy in an NES Dungeon room with one of his own weapons.
Magic (Enemy)
Default weapon for the following enemies- Magic Octorok, Teleporting, Floating, and Mirror Wizzrobes, Magic Shooter.
Rock
Default weapon for the following enemies- L1 and L2 Octoroks, Rock Shooter.
Sword (Enemy)
Default weapon for the following enemies- L2 and L3 Stalfos, L1 and L2 Lynels, Death Knight, Sword Shooter.
Whirlwind (Enemy)
Default weapon for the Wind Wizzrobe Enemy.

Misc. Sprites

All weapons/misc sprites of this type are labeled as MISC in the weapons/misc sprite editor.

Arrow 2 (Silver) Sparkle
Default sparkle sprite for the default L2 Arrow item.
Arrow 3 (Golden) Sparkle
Default sparkle sprite for the default L3 Arrow item.
Boomerang 2 (Magic) Sparkle
Default sparkle sprite for the default L2 Boomerang item.
Boomerang 3 (Fire) Sparkle
Default damaging sparkle sprite for the default L3 Boomerang item.
Bush Leaves
Hard-coded clippings sprite for a slashed bush combo.
Death
Hard-coded enemy and Link death sprite.
Flower Clippings
Hard-coded clippings sprite for a slashed flowers combo.
Grass Clippings
Hard-coded clippings sprite for a slashed tall grass combo.
Hammer Impact
Default smack sprite for the default Hammer item.
Hover Boots Glow
Default halo sprite for the default Hover Boots item.
Magic Meter
Hard-coded sprite for the magic meter subscreen object.
More
Hard-coded sprite used for when a message string is finished; this sprite is not displayed if the string does not jump to another string unless the Messages Disappear rule is checked.
Quarter Hearts
Hard-coded quarter hearts sprite for the life meter subscreen object; only displayed if the Enable 1/4 Heart Life Bar rule is checked.
Ripples
Hard-coded effect sprite for when Link is standing on a shallow water combo.
Shadow (Large)
Hard-coded shadow sprite for large enemies, such as the Boulder enemy.
Shadow (Small)
Hard-coded shadow sprite for rocks, flying enemies, jumping enemies, jumping Link, and enemies and items falling from the ceiling.
Spawn
Hard-coded puff sprite for when an enemy appears.
Subscreen Vine
Hard-coded sprite for the vines in the BS Active subscreens.
Tall Grass
Hard-coded effect sprite for when Link is standing on a tall grass combo.

Obsoleted Sprites

These weapons/misc sprites have been obsoleted in 2.5, but can be used for custom Link weapon sprites. Keep in mind that these may be reserved for future expansion.

Swim (Labeled <unused> in 2.5)
The sprite used for Link's swimming tiles in 2.10 and lower. Obsoleted by the Link Sprite Dialog Box.
Link Slash (Labeled <unused> in 2.5)
The sprite used for Link's slashing tiles in 2.10 and lower. Obsoleted by the Link Sprite Dialog Box.

Unimplemented Sprites

These weapons/misc sprites are not yet implemented, therefore there are reserved for future expansion and shouldn't be used.

NPCS (Labeled <unused> in 2.5)
The sprite for NPCs. In 2.5, this sprite is labeled <unused> as it has not yet been implemented.
Boss Marker (Labeled <unused> in 2.5)
The sprite for the Boss Marker. In 2.5, this sprite is labeled <unused> as it has not yet been implemented.
Fire 2 Trail (Enemy)
Currently unused.
Ice Magic (Enemy)
Currently unused.
